AFT Michigan and all that our union has accomplished did not just appear in the here and now. For 75 years women and men built our union. For 75 years women and men fought for what we benefit from today. For 75 years women and men put a good deal on the line, including their jobs. They gave of themselves and sacrificed time with family so that public education and public services thrived; so that school and public employees were treated fairly and with respect.
This is our history. With this history, as Pearl S. Buck has written, we face the future.
