The past and the present are inextricably linked. In the past we fought for protections like tenure and good retirement benefits, and today we fight to keep those gains. Teacher Tenure

One of the core principles our union fought for was teacher tenure. Today, some people believe tenure is one of the issues that hold back public school improvement. Others argue that without the due process required by tenure, teachers would be scapegoated for all that is wrong with schools.
